Learn the ART of Improvisitaion in Belly Dance with Emily Marie

Did know the heart of Raqs Sharqi - Belly Dance is through Improv.

So what is Improv?

Hearing the music and responding with you body.

What is Improv in Raqs Sharqi - Belly Dance?

Knowing the music, the instruments, the lyrics, the song, the style of music you are dancing to and then

you make choices with your body to create dance.  Creating on the spot is hard for some dancers is extreamly hard or easy.  Let me show you some techniques I use to help you create.  This class pairs so well with the Sound Bath Meditaion right after.

1:30 - 3:00pm

Sound Bath Meditation & Cacao Ceremony with Susan

What is a sound bath

A sound bath is an experience where you are immersed in deep sound vibrations. It is an ancient practice that uses various sound frequencies to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve physical and mental well-being.  It is based on the principle that everything in the universe is made up of energy and vibration, and that sound can be used to balance and harmonize this energy.

The Sound Healer may use various instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, flutes, drums, tuning forks, chimes, or well anything that vibrates to produce these frequencies.

A sound bath is practice and not a concert, so you are free to just relax and let the sounds vibrate over you.

What is a cacao ceremony

A modern cacao ceremony is rooted in ancient cultures of Central and South America where the cacao tree originated. Participants gather to drink cacao with an aim to reconnect with the heart, nature and each other. It is a time to celebrate the magic of being alive. In this ceremony, we are reminded that every moment offers an opportunity for presence, connection and transformation.
