About the event
Intermediate level
For dancers with at least 2 years of experience in raqs sharqi or fusion or some form of dance ect.
Not a beginner class.
Belly Dance Technique Class
7:30 to 8:30 pm
Strengthen your shimmies, footwork, arm paths, undulations, and hip articulations in this fast paced, continuously moving class. You will build endurance in the dance by moving for the whole hour. Some combos will be taught to enhance our strength and fluidity in our dance. We will touch on musicality and rhythms.
Cane Dance / Raqs Assaya Focus Class
8:30 to 9 pm
30 mins Focus Class on Cane Dance or known as Raqs Assaya.
Learn how to manipulate the cane or known as “Assaya” in Arabic. This class we will focus on technique using the cane/assaya in our dance, learn rhythms that go with this specific folkloric dance, certain dance moves that go with this dance.
*Recommended you bring your own assaya or cane to class. I will have some to borrow.
